A victim described how he was duped by the fraudulent online vendor @alluring_wears1 on Instagram, which claimed to sell male shirts at low prices.
He was so desperate to get his hands on some of these shirts that he approached the owner of this Instagram page and bargained.
Both the unsuspecting buyer and the handler agreed on a price; the unsuspecting buyer wanted to pay for five shirts but only paid for one because the Instagram handle had been changed twice and he had previously been scammed.
He went ahead and paid N6,000 naira plus a delivery fee to the account issued by the handler of the @alluring_wears1, and was told his shirt would be delivered that same day by 5 p.m.
The ordered item was not delivered, and the Instagram page did not respond to his messages.
To date, no item has been delivered, and no refund has been issued.
