A report was brought to scamexpress’s attention on Instagram, where there is a page called westwind_tech that claims to be into gadgets, home appliances, and kitchen utensils.
One of the victims who reported this fraud page @westwind tech had been following this page for nearly a year, and this Instagram page @westwind tech was able to capture the victim’s attention by posting goods at ridiculous prices on their Instagram page.
At first, the victim was skeptical about them but eventually fell into their hands.
On the 24th of February 2023, the customer sent a direct message to the Instagram page @westwind_tech and asked for the price of a set of pots.
The victim paid N36,000 naira to the handler of @westwind_tech on Instagram for a set of pots and spoons.
The page’s handler promised to deliver the goods, but the goods were never delivered.
The victim dialed the phone number listed on the page; it was not answered at first, and she later discovered she had been blocked on both her phone and Instagram.
The victim later decided to message them using another account, posing as another customer, and the handler of @westwind_tech responded in the same manner as before she was scammed.
To date, no delivery of items and no refund.
