The Instagram account declutter_with_devon promotes the sale of second-hand household items at discounted prices.
Unfortunately, this account has been engaging in fraudulent activities by enticing unsuspecting individuals with attractive offers.
One such victim came across a post advertising a cheap refrigerator on the declutter_with_devon Instagram page.
The victim reached out to the account handler and negotiated a price, eventually paying N153,000 naira for the refrigerator, including a delivery fee. The handler provided the victim with an account to transfer the payment to.
Expecting the ordered item to be delivered, the victim eagerly waited, only to be disappointed as the item never arrived. Concerned, the victim tried to contact the handler to inquire about the situation and the undelivered order.
However, it became apparent that the victim had fallen victim to a scam when they discovered they had been blocked by the handler.
To this day, the victim has neither received the purchased item nor obtained a refund.
