Scamexpress, an organization dedicated to exposing scams, has received a report about a fraudulent Instagram page called @ruker_prints. The account, operated by “Ogbara Omowunmi Rukayat,” claims to offer printing services including general printing, picture frames, gift items, and branding. The alleged location of the business is No 1, Anibaba Ikd, Lagos, Nigeria.
According to a victim’s account, they discovered the @ruker_prints page through a reputable brand influencer. In early June, the victim contacted the account handler on Instagram to order a picture frame for their baby. They paid a total of N30,000 for the frames, which included four pieces of 12 by 16 crystal frameless frames (N20,000) and one piece of 7 by 9 glass frame (N10,000).
The @ruker_prints handler assured the victim that the frames would be delivered within 5-7 working days in Lagos and provided a phone number for the delivery driver. However, to the victim’s dismay, the delivery did not occur within the promised timeframe. The driver’s phone was switched off, and the account handler kept providing flimsy excuses.
Scamexpress intervened and contacted the @ruker_prints handler on Instagram to hear their side of the story. The handler cited challenges in the delivery process and promised the victim that the items would be delivered on July 7th, 2023 (Friday).
Scamexpress advised the victim to give the handler the benefit of the doubt, but the situation worsened. The victim received initial contact from the @ruker_prints handler, but subsequently, their messages were ignored, and the delivery man’s phone remained switched off.
To date, neither the ordered items have been delivered nor a refund issued.
