A report has emerged regarding the fraudulent Instagram page @declutterabode, which claims to buy and sell neatly used and brand-new household items. This page not only deceives customers but also presents a fake CAC (Corporate Affairs Commission) document to further mislead unsuspecting victims.
One customer fell victim to this scam when she made a payment of N7,000 to the account provided by the handler of @declutterabode on Instagram. However, once the payment was made, the handler went silent.
The following morning, the customer realized that the handler had blocked her on Instagram. Determined to reach out, she attempted to call the handler via WhatsApp using her two different phone lines, only to discover that she had been blocked there as well.
In a desperate attempt for answers, the victim’s friends took to the comment section of @declutterabode’s Instagram page, but the handler responded by blocking them too.
Regrettably, no items were delivered to the victim, and she has yet to receive a refund.
