A Facebook user recently shared her unfortunate encounter with a deceptive Facebook page, Mrs. Veronica Trending Fashion Slippers and Sandals Company Management Limited. This page deceitfully promotes fashionable footwear but fails to deliver on its promises.
The victim’s ordeal began when she chanced upon an enticing pair of sandals listed on Facebook Marketplace, courtesy of a page known as Mrs. Veronica Trending Fashion Slippers and Sandals Company Management Limited.
Eager to make the purchase, she contacted the page and initiated a conversation with the individual representing Mrs. Veronica Trending Fashion Slippers and Sandals Company Management Limited. Subsequently, the victim was provided with a WhatsApp number to facilitate the transaction.
Negotiations with the handler of Mrs. Veronica Trending Fashion Slippers and Sandals Company Management Limited ensued, and the victim was informed that the total cost of the sandal amounted to N5,000. Initially, she was instructed to make a partial payment of N2,500 for the sandals, with the remaining amount to be settled upon delivery by a dispatched rider.
However, as the transaction progressed, the handler abruptly demanded the full payment before delivery. Trusting the process, the victim complied and diligently provided evidence of her payments as requested.
To her shock, the handler of Mrs. Veronica Trending Fashion Slippers and Sandals Company Management Limited then disclosed an additional fee of N2,000 for a receipt fee, at which point the victim realized she had fallen victim to a scam.
As of today, the victim has neither received the ordered items nor been refunded for her losses.
