Tinuola Ajayi, Managing Partner at Absolute Fragrance warned people recently about the new scam trend going on in Alausa where the scammers use the identity of known people to swindle vendors off their money.
Someone supposedly influential places an order for high-end perfumes worth a lot of money to Pay On Delivery and the address will be within the Alausa complex. Once the delivery man gets there, he will be told the PA will meet him, the PA comes out and collects the perfumes and says please wait here, they are going to meet their Oga to confirm the package and make payment. They go through a door and the delivery man waits forever because some of these offices are interconnected or have other exits. This is the scam format used.
