A friend of mine started chatting with this guy on Facebook who claims to be from Edo state but based in California USA. They have been chatting for about 2months now until early this week that he started bringing up issues of his sick mom that was attacked by herdsmen in Jos and needed urgent medical attention. He told my friend that the doctor said they needed an urgent deposit of N125K and he can’t make the transfer because it will take time to receive the money here. He asked her if she could help him contact the doctor and that he will pay her back even with interest.

She has already sent N50K to the guy and wanted to send another N50K through her friend, then it struck her to ask questions. She sent two of her friends living in Jos to help her go to the hospital which they did and both of them confirmed that there’s no doctor like Dr Michael and there’s no patient like his mom.

This is a new scam targeting Nigerian hardworking females living in Nigeria and looking for Nigeria guys living abroad. Another friend of mine fell prey to this same scam last year. Before she could realize what was happening, she had already parted ways with her hard earned N150k which the guy abroad needed for his mom’s house rent in Nigeria. Before you help that your abroad boyfriend you met online, think twice.
