She contacted Lawal Babatunde Taofeek in 2018 to let him know that she needed land, and he was able to see the property with the help of a friend she had in Nigeria.
She sent Lawal Babatunde Taofeek a total of N516,000 (N300,000 naira for the land and N216,000 naira for the foundation).
Lawal Babatunde Taofeek was supposed to pay the landowner the money after receiving it the following day, but as soon as he did, he began making flimsy justifications.
Moving forward, Lawal Babatunde Taofeek was able to refund N120,000 naira in three batches in 2019— N50,000 naira in May, N20,000 naira in November, and N50,000 naira in February.
There has been no return of the victim’s N396,000 naira amount as of yet from Lawal Babatunde Taofeek.
Lawal Babatunde Taofeek has received repeated requests from the victim for reimbursement of her money.
