This Instagram account, @mrphoneseller, claims to sell, swap phones and accessories, and occasionally post advertisement giveaways to their followers.
A giveaway advertisement was recently posted on this Instagram page, @mrphoneseller, and an unaware follower noticed it.
Because it was a giveaway, the unwary follower decided to take part. He later received a message congratulating him on winning an iPhone X 64GB.
He was instructed to go to their store, shop 3, Papinda City Plaza, Aliyu Attah Road, Lokoja, to pick up the phone.
Additionally, he received a prize claim code, which is M2DPR1GVX05.
He replied to the message stating that he does not reside in that area and asked for a delivery option. They accepted his request and asked him to transfer N3,800 to their account, which the unaware follower did.
After making the payments, he discovered that he had been blocked and was unable to access the Instagram page.
Further research revealed that this Instagram page is not only a scammer but also a potential kidnapper that online users should stay away from to avoid becoming the next victim.
