An Enugu-based photographer, Christian Mba Kenechi of Rainer Media, has allegedly been scamming individuals through fraudulent camera sales. The details of one reported scam are as follows:
Incident Summary: On August 11, 2024, I connected with Christian Mba Kenechi via the @camerajointng Instagram community, where he advertised a Canon M50 camera for sale. After demonstrating the camera’s functionality through a video call, we agreed on the terms, and I made the payment. Christian assured me that the camera would be shipped via GIG Logistics, and I received a tracking number.
Trouble Began on August 16, 2024:
When I went to collect the package from the GIG Logistics office, I discovered that I was not listed as the recipient. Christian started providing vague excuses, and upon further investigation, I learned that this was not an isolated case.
Further Findings: I later learned from the @camerajointng admin that another buyer had been scammed in a similar way involving the same Canon M50 camera. It became clear that Christian had sold the same camera to at least three different buyers.
The third buyer, a woman, eventually received the camera, but it was in poor condition, with a damaged built-in flash panel. The repairs for this damage were estimated at ₦250,000.
⚠️ Public Warning: Please be cautious when dealing with Christian Mba Kenechi or Rainer Media. This individual has a history of fraudulent sales, and multiple people have suffered financial loss due to his deceptive practices.
