I got a call from a random number yestreday morning. The caller claimed that his dad mistakenly sent recharge ard meant for him to me . He pleaded with me not to load the card, and but forward it back to him. Straight up, I told him to ask his dad to send it to his number again, that I am not loading the recharge card.
Moments later, he called to thank me and mentoned that his dad waned to appreciate me for not loading the cards. His dad then prayed for me. What shocked me was when his supposed dad asked for my maritl status, number of children, where I live and what I did for a living. It was at that point I knew they were scammers.
Further questions and research into this, I realized that the scammers were trying to win me over and will attempt to make transfers from your account. When the OTP drops, they will call me again and say it is the same mistake. Hence, clearing my account.
In some other cases, I learnt that they hyponitoze people through phone calls.
Avoid the scammers once they call you. Just hang up and block them from calling you.
