A report about @mrphoneseller on Instagram was brought to our attention.
@mrphoneseller claims to sell phones, swap phones, and phone accessories, and will occasionally post giveaway advertisements to thank its followers.
Take a look at the ploy they used to entice and dupe an unsuspecting follower.
The victim saw a giveaway posted on @mrphoneseller and decided to participate. He was later congratulated on winning an iPhone X 64GB in a message.
He was told to pick up the phone at their shop, shop 3, Papinda City Plaza, Aliyu Attah Road, Lokoja. He also received a prize claim code, which is M2DPR1GVX05.
He responded to the message by stating that he did not live in that area and requesting a delivery option. They agreed to his request and requested that he transfer N3,800 to their account.
He discovered that he had been blocked and was unable to access the Instagram page after making the payments.
