The handler of this Instagram page, @standardcapitalviewng, advertised discounted food products for sale.
An online buyer in need of food stumbled across the Instagram post, ordered snails and a bag of crayfish, and paid N180,000 naira to the account supplied by the Instagram page’s handler.
The page’s handler was scheduled to send the things to the buyer on Friday, but the items were not delivered as promised.
The Instagram page’s handler later answered the next day that all clients need to top up their orders, that they are only processing orders from N300,000 naira, and that the buyer must top up N120,000 naira to acquire her order.
The unsuspecting buyer was not immediately informed of this new development, which left her completely puzzled and convinced she was a victim of fraud.
To date, the items were not delivered, and no refund.
