Gokada riders are carting away money and even items of unsuspecting application users. And just like every other digital business, the riders have identified a loophole in the business process.
What they do is very simple:
After receiving an item from you, the rider can simply cancel the trip and you will no longer have access to their information or trip history. The worse part is, if you already have their phone number and call them, the rider will block you and you will never be able to contact them again.
If you go further and try to report this on the Gokada app or send an email to Gokada, you will lose access to that ride on your app because the Gokada rider has canceled it. If you try to contact Gokada via email, they will simply ignore you.
Another part of this scam is if someone sends you an item and the Gokada rider is honest enough to deliver it and you have already paid for delivery, the rider can charge you again for delivery while pretending they haven’t been paid on the other end, and then they get money in both places before blocking you (the receiver) and the sender.
