A civil servant in Borno State has described how Amijcoo, an agricultural investment platform, stole N3 million from him.
He put the money into the company, which was previously known as Porkvest, in 2021.
He was very interested in Amijcoo’s pig farming business when he came across their investment offers.
After nine months, the investment was supposed to generate a 25% return on investment (RoI).
So, after investing N1 million in two separate pig farming portfolios between February and March 2021, he received N1.25 million twice in October and November of the same year.
He felt encouraged after receiving the payment and invested an additional N3 million in three separate pig farming portfolios between November and December 2021.”
According to the civil servant, things changed after he paid the N3 million.
When it came time for him to receive his payment in September 2022, Amijcoo sent him an email informing him that there would be a one-month delay in repayment.
The company also stated that the reason for the delay was that their farmers had yet to complete selling their pigs and that payment would be made once they had.
However, after the one-month repayment period they promised had passed and they had still not made the payment, he became concerned.
Amijcoo chose to keep him in the dark about their inability to pay when they stopped answering his calls and responding to his emails.
“The company’s official phone lines are currently unavailable.
A source called Amijcoo’s official phone numbers, 09090009288 and 070255593423, but they were disconnected. Text messages sent to the numbers were also unanswered at the time of publication.
Emails sent to [email protected] and [email protected] did not go through.
Further investigation revealed that Akinwole Oluwakunle, the CEO of Amijcoo, is also the owner of Jadek Farms, the company with which the investment platform claimed to be collaborating while attempting to convince investors to invest in the pig farming business.
He was last active on Facebook in June 2021, which was also the last time he was active on LinkedIn.
There is no evidence that Akinwole has a personal Twitter handle other than Jadek Farm’s official handle, which was last active in May 2021.
