On September 6, 2022, an unsuspecting individual received an email from Dr. Akiteru Nonomuno, who claimed to be the executive vice president of Kowa company ltd in Japan.
The mail stated that they wanted the unsuspecting individual to be their representative in Nigeria and that they have a contract with the Canadian government to procure 10,000 units of dolomite every four months for the next five years.
They instructed the unsuspecting individual to obtain a proforma invoice from the mining company (Golden land resources mining ltd Yobe State), which he did.
They claimed that they would send two delegates to Nigeria to test the mineral’s quality, but they needed IECCN to process their visa.
Dr. Akiteru” explained that they will send a deposit of ($1.8M) for the dolomite in a parcel via Crestranz golden delivery company), and that no third party should be informed.
This was when the unsuspecting individual confirmed their scam game, and that upon delivery of the parcel, he would settle the handling charges worth $300, and that the money would be sent through this account (0254084454, Anchor Jacob, WEMA BANK). And they will send the consignment to their delivery agent, Samuel Attah (09124430376).
Dr. Akiteru, the scammer, insisted that the unsuspecting individual send money to them, which the unsuspecting individual refused; as a result, this scammer stopped communicating with him, believing that they would receive a credit alert.
Out of curiosity, the unsuspecting individual searched the Internet and discovered that this is not the first time they have committed fraud; they have done so to several people in the past, and all they do is change strategy.
