On the fateful afternoon of January 19th, 2023, Osakwe Ikechukwu Reginald decided to defraud a family of Aliyu in Abuja who is into bureau de change 6,000$, which is equivalent to an agreed amount of N4,482,000 based on the rate of N747/$. According to one of the Aliyus, Osakwe Ikechukwu Reginald came to their office in Abuja in late 2022 with a supposed uber driver, sold physical 1,000$ dollars to them, and kept on coming to build trust. After he thought that he had built trust enough for them not to be suspicious of his move, he called one of the Aliyus with his phone number +2347033419763, that he had 6,000$ funds in his GTBank account for sale.
One of the Aliyus gave him the bank details to send the 6,000$ funds to, after which he gave them screenshots and an SMS debit alert attached below.
He then gave them his Providus bank account number, 9995454557, for them to send N4,482,000.
Based on the trust the Aliyus have for him, and maybe plus other things he must have done, one of them sent the money to his Providus bank account, as evidenced in the image below.
Later, the Aliyus realised the 6,000$ Osakwe Ikechukwu Reginald claimed he sent wasn’t found in the account that he was called severally, but he couldn’t be reached. One of them eventually chatted with him on Whatsapp, but he was on the defensive, as it can be seen in the image attached below.
The Aliyus got a court order and communicated with the fraud team of Providus bank who later helped them reverse less than N2,000,000 met in his account at the time as seen in the images attached. And until now, the rest of the money sent to Osakwe Ikechukwu Reginald has yet to be recovered from him, but the Aliyus are working on getting him.
