An Instagram vendor identified as Ekiniyi Ochete Ubasi, who operates the page @eekfertilityherbal, has been accused of defrauding a customer of ₦59,000 under the guise of selling fertility-related herbal products.
According to a detailed complaint shared by a user on Nairaland under the username Citadel123, the vendor received payment for a product on May 3, 2025, but failed to deliver the item or issue a refund.
“I paid ₦59,000 including delivery for one of her products, but since then, it’s been one excuse after another. Eventually, she blocked me,” the complainant stated.
The user further claimed that all attempts to reach Ekiniyi via her listed WhatsApp numbers were unsuccessful, and that the vendor’s Instagram page appears to be a front for fraudulent activity.
“Her page has over 40,000 followers, yet not a single authentic comment can be found. She deletes any negative feedback and limits comments on her posts,” they alleged.
The complainant said they later discovered others had also fallen victim to the same scam and expressed frustration that the account remains active on Instagram despite multiple red flags.
“She targets people who are desperately trying to conceive, taking advantage of their vulnerability. I’m not the only one she has scammed, but I’ve decided to speak out so others don’t fall prey,” the user explained.
The post included promises to share further evidence such as payment receipts, photos of the vendor, and testimonials from other victims in an effort to raise awareness and possibly trigger action against the alleged scammer.
“If only I had done my due diligence, I wouldn’t have been scammed. This is my honest review of @eekfertilityherbal, owned by Ekiniyi Ochete Ubasi,” the user concluded.
At the time of this report, Instagram had not taken down the account, and no official response had been issued by the platform regarding the scam allegation.
