Evil scammers like Kingsley Emeka, who parade themselves on social media platforms as legitimate vendors are hard to sense these days.
They go about stealing the contents of legitimate online vendors, curating profiles that look real, faking engagements with their other profiles, and even go to the extent of sponsoring their ads on social media. And even when you do basic due diligence, everything looks legitimate till they receive the money and make no delivery.
Kingsley Emeka took N100,500 from an anonymous Instagram user for the purchase and delivery of farm produce and made no delivery. This particular thief and his gang with similar farm accounts have been ripping money off hard-working people for a while. Not only stealing from people during these hard times but also soiling the reputation of vendors whose identities were stolen and other genuine vendors.
