A legal practitioner was consulted by one of his clients two months ago to prepare a Deed of Assignment for one acre (6plots) of land. The client emailed him the land document that the seller had given to him.
The legal practitioner discovered after reading the land document that it was nothing more than a piece of paper with no legal significance.
It was a ‘TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN’ document stating that the seller is the owner, and it is stated that such a document is not recognized by the law for passing title from one person to another.
