A shoe vendor has recently shared a distressing incident where she was deceived by a professional point-of-sale (POS) thief who skillfully scammed her out of N80,000 worth of goods. The vendor shared CCTV footage revealing how the scammer managed to pull off the theft without being detected.
In the video, the footwear vendor narrated the incident, explaining that the suspected female fraudster entered her shop disguised with dark shades and a black wig, intentionally hiding her face from the CCTV camera. The scammer made a purchase of N99,000 worth of items and opted to pay N80,000 through the POS, which the vendor accepted.
As the customer inputted her ATM card and pin, she cleverly manipulated the transaction by switching the printed receipt when the vendor was not looking, thus concealing her deceitful act.
This incident serves as a cautionary tale to others, shedding light on the techniques used by professional POS thieves. The vendor hopes that sharing her story will raise awareness and prevent others from falling victim to similar scams.
