Scamexpress has recently received a concerning report from an individual who fell victim to the dubious activities of Instagram accounts under the names “homes_declutter” and “homesdecluter.”
The unfortunate victim came across an enticing offer on the homes_declutter Instagram page, advertising a distressed deal for a PS5 priced at N200,000. Trusting the legitimacy of the agreement, the unsuspecting individual engaged with the handler behind the account.
Initially, the victim requested a pay-on-pickup arrangement, which was met with resistance from the homes_declutter handler. Despite the hesitation, the buyer decided to compromise and paid half of the amount, totaling N100,000, with the intention of settling the remainder upon picking up the item.
However, a red flag emerged the next day when the homes_declutter handler suddenly demanded full payment before releasing the item. It was at this point that the victim realized they had fallen prey to a scam.
Desperate for recourse, the victim sought a refund, invoking the 10% deduction policy. Shockingly, the handler of homes_declutter refused to provide a refund, disregarding a 10% deduction stipulation.
The victim pressed further, proposing that the 10% be deducted and the remaining amount refunded, yet the handler remained uncooperative. As time went by, no product was delivered, and no refund was issued, leaving the victim in a state of financial loss and frustration.
