They called him and asked him to open a Sportybet account in order to enjoy many benefits and goodies like sure odds and others. As the guy no too sabi anything about betting, he fell for the trap after they convinced him.
That’s how the guy created the account with his own hands. Then the scammer called him again to input his details into the account…he also inputted his own bank details and other info with his own hands into the site. They told him that he was getting the registration wrong and they need to make it right..that they need a code to seal the full registration. Shortly after this, they gained access to the account by telling him to send the OTP received for password change.
They emptied his account without dropping a kobo by moving all the money to Sportybet and paid out the money into a paycom account opened in his name.
I gisted my friend about it and the guy said it is a popular scam format used on unsuspecting victims or naive people who don’t gamble. How come Sportybet and Paycom control is very weak, how do ppl easily scam with it? Chai!
They ran Sportybet scam on my church member.
