Mustapha Alisu, who claims to be an escrow (a legitimate person) on Nairaland, helped a client join a telegram group.
To complete his online transactions, the client needed to purchase bitcoin.
Mustapha Alisu told him that he would receive the coin after making the necessary payments. The telegram group vanished from the victim’s phone as soon as Mustapha Alisu received the N90,200 naira payment from this client.
There has been no bitcoin or refund to date. The victim later reported the scammer to his bank (UBA) and Palmpay bank, and the account was frozen.
