Mehn! I just entered the country form abroad and I was forming
‘yankee’, so I decided to change my 500USD to get cab and buy some stuff for my family, friends and colleagues. To cut the story short, I went to those Bureau de Change shops at the arrival side inside Lagos airport. They sha confused me with the rates and I went for the woman with cheaper rates. She gave me couple of bundles of 1k notes and I just put them in my bag I didn’t count them, I got a cab and zoomed off.
When I got home eh, Omo! most of the bundles were short of about 5 – 10k each. I felt like crying.
The pain increased when I ordered a ride via Uber, it showed me N3,000 to Lekki, we spent hours in traffic and bad roads, I ended up paying N8,000.
I instantly felt let leaving the country, took me several months to forget the dramatic day.
