An unsuspecting buyer came across an Instagram page called “Pet Palace Nig,” which claimed to offer dogs and pets for adoption at various prices. The buyer selected two cats and was instructed to pay ₦75,000 for their delivery.
After making the payment, the buyer was surprised when communication from the seller abruptly ceased. The seller stopped responding to messages and calls. By the next morning, the buyer discovered that the Instagram account had unfollowed and blocked them.
Despite repeated attempts to contact the seller, there has been no response. No pets have been delivered, and no refund has been issued.
This scam is part of a growing trend of Instagram pet adoption scams where fraudulent pages use fake listings to exploit unsuspecting buyers. Always be cautious when engaging in online transactions, especially on social media platforms, and verify the credibility of sellers before making any payments.
